A couple of girlfriends and I hit up the beach a couple of weeks ago. I guess I should love the fact that living in Brisbane means that we’re a couple hours drive away from a dozen beaches, but truth be told, sun and sand isn’t really my thing. It always sounds like a really good idea, but I get sunburnt way too easily, immensely dehydrated, and I always feel skin cancer coming to get me. That’s not to say that I don’t love the beach, I do. I just like shade, a plethora of cold drinks, and a dozen things to do so I don’t get bored.

But I had lots of fun that day. And seeing as chances are that I’ll be moving to another state in 2011, I might as well take advantage of having the beach right at my doorstep (or an hour’s drive away).
